About The Position

Cellanome is a well-funded start-up focused on tackling some of the biggest challenges in biology by developing next-generation technologies to unravel biological complexities. The company is building a world-class team of engineers, scientists, and problem solvers. This is a unique opportunity to be part of an exciting start-up environment with capable, humble, and down-to-earth individuals. As a Summer Intern, reporting to the Senior Data Scientist, you will gain end-to-end experience analyzing novel multimodal datasets in a collaborative industry setting. You will be responsible for delivering a concrete methodological contribution that advances the platform's development. Projects will involve the analysis of multimodal single-cell and imaging datasets generated by the Cellanome platform, applying computational biology, statistical, and machine learning principles to tasks such as exploratory data analysis, method development, pipeline prototyping, and supporting cross-functional collaborations with R&D scientists. This collaborative computational role encourages creative thinking and curiosity.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled PhD student in a quantitative field (bioinformatics, computational or systems biology, statistics, physics, applied math, or related).
  • Able to commit to a 12 week program during Summer 2026.
  • Hands-on experience with single-cell sequencing analysis and/or biomedical image analysis.
  • Strong R + Python fundamentals, with experience in data visualization.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating with interdisciplinary R&D scientists.
