Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident. Students sponsored through Optical Practical Training (OPT) or Curricular Practical Training (CPT) are NOT eligible for this internship
  • Must be currently enrolled in a 4-year institution of higher education and pursuing a Bachelor of Science or Master’s Degree in engineering, data science, or related discipline
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Access Suite desired
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills; presentation skills desired
  • Official transcripts must be received from your school prior to start date
  • Must be in good academic standing with your school

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with programming languages, project management, Power BI, or machinery desired

Responsibilities

  • Interface with engineering staff, operations & maintenance groups, and other Vistra personnel to ensure consistent, practical, and effective engineering solutions
  • Rotate through different groups within the engineering department to gain a working knowledge of engineering functional areas.
  • Shadowing of other departments, to include, but are not limited to Operations, Maintenance, Radiation Protection and Chemistry
  • Will be assigned various engineering projects based on prior experience and courses completed
  • Comply with safety policy and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
  • Possess the ability to work independently on assignments and problem solve with teams and in a dynamic environment
  • All other duties as assigned
