About The Position

This internship offers a unique opportunity to be part of an exciting start-up environment with capable, humble, and down-to-earth individuals. As a Summer Intern, reporting to a Scientist II, you will gain exposure to real-world biotech R&D through biomaterials-focused projects. The role involves designing and executing experiments to characterize biomaterial systems, analyzing data to generate insights, and collaborating with a cross-functional team to advance Cellanome’s technology and platform. The position requires applying principles from materials science and cell biology to iteratively develop and evaluate biomaterial systems through experimentation and data analysis. It is suited for someone intellectually curious, creative, and motivated to translate ideas into well-executed experiments and data-driven insights in a collaborative setting.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled PhD student in bioengineering, chemical engineering, materials engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field
  • Able to commit to a 10–12-week program during Summer 2026
  • Experience working with biomaterials including polymers and hydrogels
  • Experience with materials characterization techniques (e.g., microscopy, rheometry)
  • Experience evaluating cell-material interactions
  • Strong data analysis and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
