With the significant Redevelopment programs underway at Newark Liberty International and JFK International Airports, the Infrastructure Asset Management Unit plays an increasingly integral role in the handover of project assets into Operations and Maintenance in the Aviation Department. The unit works closely with Maintenance and Physical Plant staffs at the airports, as well as the Redevelopment, Project Management, Capital Planning, and Environmental Units in the Aviation Department. The unit is advancing on several fronts to improve the alignment of maintenance and asset management by implementing best practices and providing complete, accurate data to management staff to enable more data-driven capital improvements.
