About The Position

Mesirow is an independent, employee-owned financial services firm founded in 1937. Headquartered in Chicago, with offices across the country, Mesirow serves clients through capabilities spanning Private Capital & Currency, Capital Markets and Investment Banking, and Advisory Services. We are looking for a Summer Intern to support both Mesirow Sale-Leaseback Capital and Mesirow Bridge Equity for the summer of 2026. This internship will provide expanded exposure to institutional real estate, sale-leaseback, private credit lending, and real estate capital markets industries. The Intern will assist in various aspects of acquisitions, asset management, and business development, while gaining experience in credit and real estate underwriting, market research, and transaction support.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree or master's degree in progress: background in finance, accounting, economics, real estate, or related field preferred
• Minimum GPA of 3.5
• High enthusiasm, intellectual curiosity, and strong self-motivation
• Self-starter with strong attention to detail
• Ability to multi-task and work in a team-oriented environment
• Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and ChatGPT
• Integrity and professionalism in handling sensitive information
• Ability to work in-office in downtown Chicago

Responsibilities

• Help prepare marketing materials for communication with capital sources, including internal and external memos and presentations
• Conduct research on potential investment opportunities
• Perform market research and compile industry/credit profiles
• Update and refine financial spreadsheet models
• Assist with due diligence on prospective properties and new developments
• Enter and maintain records in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems (e.g., DealCloud) to track deal flow, client engagement, and market activity
