About The Position

Five Rings is a proprietary trading firm that combines strategy, innovation, and technology to succeed in global markets. The firm has offices in New York, Boca Raton, London, and Amsterdam, trading in various domestic and international markets. The summer internship program is an intensive 9-week experience running from early June to early August. Interns will engage in hands-on projects, classroom instruction, and in-house built strategy games, working closely with the research team on development projects. Each intern will have a dedicated mentor and participate in talks introducing key trading concepts, along with various activities such as strategic game nights and social outings in New York.

Requirements

• Must be working towards a PhD or Master's degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, statistics, economics, or another qualifying field
• Exceptional at math and with other quantitative skills
• Hunger to work on complex mathematical problems
• Enjoy problem solving
• Initiate and act on thoughts or ideas promptly
• Proven track record of success in the candidate's field of specialty
• Thrive in a highly collaborative environment
• Basic programming experience through internships or academia
• Meticulous and detail-oriented
• Eager to learn

Responsibilities
