The Mayo Clinic Rochester Summer III (SIII) Nursing Internship is one of the longest-running student nurse internships in the nation. Students from across the U.S. take part in the Summer III Program. The Summer III Student Nurse Internship is a skill based paid 10-week full time program, providing opportunities to gain valuable clinical skills and experience. Rochester, MN campus has over 60 specialties, two hospitals, 10 ICUs, and around 130 operating rooms. Summer III Nurse Interns will perform delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN) and in accordance with the Minnesota Board of Nursing. The designated tasks are those which have been taught in the academic programs and/or orientation, and where the individual has demonstrated competence. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING DETAILS CAREFULLY. Requirements

  • By June 1st, 2026, applicants must have successfully completed one of the following: 1. The Junior Year of an accredited baccalaureate nursing program, as recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). 2. Three semesters of an accredited associate degree nursing program.
  • Candidates must NOT be eligible for the NCLEX during the program.
  • Candidates must have an anticipated RN graduation date between August 10th 2026 and June 1st 2027.
  • Candidates must be available for the entirety of the 10-week program.
  • Summer III interns will be required to enroll in a 1-credit Summer Intern Course at a University or College within Minnesota for the duration of the program.
  • RESUME. Resumes can be longer than 1 page. Please include the following information: permanent address, email, phone, academic program (s), anticipated degree and graduation month/year, cumulative GPA, paid employment history, unpaid clinical experiences, volunteer experiences, awards/honors. Other pertinent information.
  • BLS/CPR CERTIFICATION. Please attach proof of completion for one of the following accepted providers: American Heart Association: Course title 'BLS for Healthcare Providers' Red Cross: Course title CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers or BLS for Healthcare Providers Military Training Network
  • NOTE: If your certification is set to expire between June 1st and August 1st 2026, please renew PRIOR to the first day of employment.

Responsibilities
