A Summer Financial Analyst in the Real Estate, Lodging & Leisure Investment Banking Group in the New York office will work on a variety of active engagements, business development assignments, and growth initiatives. The group offers a unique opportunity for Summer Financial Analysts to work on a variety of projects that provide exposure to various financial advisory and investment banking products and sectors within the real estate industry. The Summer Financial Analyst will have the following tasks:

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's and / or Master's Degree with a graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028 (Finance, Accounting, Economics, and Real Estate majors are preferred)
  • A fundamental understanding of real estate and corporate valuation theories, methodologies, and applications
  • Strong analytical abilities
  • Proficiency with Excel (particularly modeling skills) and PowerPoint
  • A demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with all levels of staff
  • Be an independent thinker and resourceful problem solver driven to succeed
  • Have a very strong work ethic, organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Demonstrate a strong interest in real estate
  • A demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with all levels of staff.
  • Candidates must have a strong knowledge of accounting and applied financial theory, keen analytical capabilities, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, analyze and help explain historical and projected financial information
  • Coordinate and perform business due diligence and execute M&A and capital raising transactions
  • Prepare confidential information memoranda, management presentations, marketing pitches and other presentations
  • Value real estate companies, businesses, and assets
  • Assist in the marketing and planning of engagements
  • Build relationships and maintain direct contact with clients, prospective clients and professional advisors.
