About The Position

The Chicago Public Education Fund (The Fund) is a nonprofit that supports public schools by investing in the talented educators who lead them. We partner with Chicago Public Schools, the City of Chicago, the local philanthropic community, and school leaders to build and sustain a culture of innovation, a love for learning, and a passion for service to students. For more than two decades, our programs, policy work, and data infrastructure have made a measurable, positive impact in schools and improve outcomes for students. We are currently seeking a Summer Fellow to assist The Fund’s Data and Innovation Team, in analyzing end-of-year program data and participant trends. This role offers an opportunity to work hands-on with education data, supporting efforts to assess the impact of our programs on school leaders and identifying key insights to inform strategic improvements. The Fellow will play a critical role in organizing and managing data sets, contributing to cross-team initiatives, and developing a capstone project that advances The Fund’s mission of strengthening principal quality and leadership development

Requirements

  • Ability to think through, manage, and communicate many details
  • Advanced data analysis experience, particularly with Excel and in education contexts
  • Interest in public education

Nice To Haves

  • Intermediate or advanced skill with Word and PowerPoint
  • Data visualization and design experience

Responsibilities

  • Organize program data on school leader participation for the 2025-2026 school year to identify key trends and insights.
  • Build, organize, and analyze data sets to assess principal impact and identify needs.
  • Support the creation of data profiles on school and leadership to inform decision-making.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives within the Data & Innovation and Program & Innovation teams, contributing to support for school leaders in 2026-27.
  • Develop and present a capstone project that advances The Fund’s mission, leveraging data-driven insights to enhance principal support and development.
  • Exact responsibilities will be dependent on the Fellow’s skills, capacity, and interest.
