About The Position

Performs day to day activities for the general maintenance of the county
facilities, including grounds, buildings, vehicles, and landscaped areas.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent (GED).
• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age at the time of application.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information to customers, clients, employees of the organization, and visitors.
• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100' s.
• Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
• Ability to apply good judgment in carrying out detailed written or oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Valid Minnesota Class D driver’s license.
• Ability to operate and maintain equipment required to perform assigned tasks, including lawn mowers, weed whips, hand and power tools, and other equipment, in a safe, efficient manner.

• Facility maintenance experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Assist in keeping facilities, grounds, buildings, and automobiles neat, clean, and safe.
• Perform minor painting and wall repair duties.
• Clean county vehicles as directed.
• Conduct custodial duties as assigned, including but not limited to: floor cleaning, window cleaning, vacuuming, garbage and recycling removal, etc.
• Performs basic landscaping work including trimming, weeding, and watering.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
