About The Position

The primary responsibility of this student position is to support the Rountree Commons Staff in maintaining and enhancing the residential community. Duties include but are not limited to cleaning/disinfecting common area spaces such as floor lounges, kitchens, and first floor, vacuuming, moving trash & recycling to the main trash room on the first floor from floor trash rooms, and possibly assisting with painting and repairs.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Current student at University of Wisconsin-Platteville
• Ability to lift to 50lbs and navigate up and down stairs.
• Demonstrate proficiency in verbal communication.
• Possess strong customer service skills.
• Must have troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily general inspections
• Reset and prepare suites for new residents, including but not limited to: cleaning, vacuuming and carpet cleaning, rearranging and replacing furniture, general repair, and maintenance, etc
• Paint suites and common spaces as necessary
• Service garbage and recycling areas, including but not limited to: proper removal and transport of materials to the disposal areas
• Assist with general building cleaning and related services
• Escort and monitor contracted repair and service vendors while on-site providing a service.
• Other duties as assigned.

Benefits

• Summer Facilities Assistants will be paid $13.00 per hour and will receive summer housing accommodations at no cost in Rountree Commons if desired.
• Position not eligible for benefits.
• Position will work up to 30 hours per week.
