About Lucid Bots Lucid Bots builds robotic solutions that are used in the real world—by real operators—to solve real problems. Our robots help extend human reach by enabling dangerous and demanding work to be done more safely and efficiently. Headquartered in Charlotte, we design, engineer, manufacture, and support our products domestically. Our production-ready robots, including the Sherpa and Lavo, are deployed by customers around the world. Teams work closely across engineering, manufacturing, sales, and operations, and individuals are encouraged to ask questions, share ideas, and take ownership early. There’s a strong sense of momentum here and excitement around what we’re building together. Lucid Bots is venture-backed and was recently recognized as one of the fastest-growing manufacturing companies in the United States. It’s the kind of place where you can see how your work connects to the bigger picture, learn directly from experienced teammates, and be part of a company that’s still writing its story. About the Internship Program This is Lucid Bots’ inaugural 10-week summer internship program, built for students who want real, hands-on experience at a fast-growing robotics company. Interns are fully embedded on their teams and contribute to meaningful work that supports our products, customers, and day-to-day execution. As one of our first interns, you’ll join Lucid Bots at a defining stage in our growth. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers and business leaders, gain exposure to how a robotics company operates and scales, and see how ideas move from concept to execution in a real production environment. We’re intentionally keeping this program small to ensure interns have real responsibility, close mentorship, and a clear view of how the business operates. This is an opportunity to build practical experience, develop strong working relationships, and be part of Lucid Bots during an important moment in our company’s story. The Role As an Engineering Intern, you’ll work alongside our engineering team on real product and process challenges related to robotic hardware and systems. This is a hands-on role designed for students who want practical experience in a fast-paced, product-driven environment—and who are excited to take ownership of real engineering problems from start to finish. We’re looking for interns who can think holistically about a system. That means understanding how mechanical, electrical, and software components come together to create a working robot. Many strong candidates will come from a mechatronics background, but students from other engineering disciplines who can demonstrate end-to-end ownership and systems thinking are encouraged to apply. You’ll be paired with a dedicated mentor and embedded into active projects that support our robotics platform, manufacturing processes, or testing and validation efforts. Interns are treated as contributors, not observers—you’ll be trusted with meaningful work and encouraged to build, test, iterate, and learn through doing.
