Summer Employment - Facilities
About The Position
Heidelberg University Facilities Department is looking for people to help fill our summer employment positions. The positions pay $11.00/hour. We have several different types of positions available. Custodial assistant-assists custodial staff with all cleaning needs including, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, washing walls/furniture, and moving furniture. Hours are 6A-2:30P with a half-hour lunch. It is typically a Monday to Friday position although there are a couple of weekends that we need to come in and clean between summer camps. Warehouse assistant-assists our warehouse staff member with mail and package pick- up and delivery, moving tables and chairs for events around campus, helps move furniture in academic buildings and residence halls, cleans vans, and other general needs. This is a very physical position and must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. This is typically a Monday to Friday position although there might be a weekend or two that you would need to work. Hours are 6A-3P with an hour for lunch. Carpentry/General Maintenance-assists our maintenance staff with a variety of tasks such as minor repairs to furniture, window screen replacing, painting, as well as other needs. This is a Monday to Friday position. Hours are 7A-3:30P with a half-hour lunch. Grounds assistance-assists our grounds crew with a variety of outside tasks including, but not limited to, pulling weeds, mowing, using power tools such as a weed eater, edger, and blower, doing some possible construction work, and helping maintain athletic fields. This is a Monday to Friday position. Hours are 7A-3:30P with a half-hour lunch.
