SCOPE: To create a pleasant dining atmosphere through direct supervision of dining room personnel and and lead the wait staff through the daily tasks and assignments; to maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the dining room before, during, and after all meals; to provide careful direction to the proper maintenance of all dining room equipment and furnishings; and to plan & lead daily devotions for wait staff. Work in conjunction with the Food Service Administrator and the Office Manager to maintain USDA meal count accuracy.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a valid Washington State Food Worker Card
  • Be responsible for the spiritual welfare of the Kitchen Staff and participating in daily meetings reserved for sharing what's on our hearts and minds.
  • Lead VIP campers with table set up and cleaning.
  • Operate with the kitchen staff as one team.
  • Lead dining hall staff with cleaning and preparation for next meal.
  • Stock and replenish the snack table and coffee bar as needed.
  • Attend and participate in evening programs and spiritual activities.
  • Maintain a standard of cleanliness in personal grooming and in living quarters.
  • Assist with the clean-up of the total camp at the end of each session and at the end of the summer.
  • Prepare and deliver the Dining Hall Lead Maintenance camp brief at the end of the summer.
  • Assist with evening cabin supervision
  • Participate with the meal count for USDA at the start of each meal time.
  • Ensure that the Staff Kitchen and snack table is kept clean, stocked and well managed.
  • Be an appropriate & effective example for both campers and staff members, exhibiting Christ-like conduct, concern, and service.
  • Report any suspected child abuse issues to the Assistant Camp Administrator and take necessary actions to report it properly.
  • Report general property maintenance issues to Food Service Manager
  • Be present and participate in camp wide evening Programs
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Food Service Manager or Camp Administrator.
  • Enforce camp policies and procedures
  • Maintain the utmost level of safety for staff and campers at all times.
  • Ensure compliance with American Camping Association standards of safety and programmatic conduct at all times.
  • Coordinate and implement all program components relative to the daily schedule in a timely fashion.
  • Prepare daily cleaning assignments and duties.
  • Ensure cleanliness of Dining Hall is maintained working alongside the Dining Hall Maintenance person.
  • Make sure Coffee bar is always cleaned and stocked. Delegate this responsibility when needed.
  • Facilitate dining hall cleaning, sanitizing, and set up for next meal.
  • Be responsible for meal counts and supervision in support of USDA guidelines.
  • Report meal counts to Office Manager.
  • Prepare and assign kitchen staff to serve camper and staff snack when needed.
  • Meet with program directors and Food Service Manager at beginning of each session to plan for special events requiring food service.

  • Parental Leave: Benefit will be one week (5 business days) of paid leave at the employee's normal rate of pay for births, adoptions and foster placements.
  • Sick Leave: 12 days annually accruing from day one, eligible for use after 3 months' service time.
  • Paid Vacation: 2 weeks annually accruing from day one, for non-exempt positions. 4 weeks annually accruing from day one, for exempt positions. Accrued vacation eligible for use after 6 months' service time.
  • Paid Holidays: 13 designated holidays + 1 floating holiday per year
