Campus Services is actively recruiting for Summer Custodial Assistants for the residential community. Campus Services is responsible for all business and facility aspects of UAA's residential campus in UAA's residential community. This includes 18 residential and non-residential buildings across campus. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform a variety of custodial duties to ensure exceptional in-house custodial service. Must be focused on customer service and committed to providing our students and guests with an attractive, clean, and healthy educational environment. This position is under frequent supervision and will receive assignments with detailed instructions. Progress will be checked regularly. To thrive in this role the candidate will have the ability to provide a high degree of customer service. Must be reliable, dependable, and punctual. Applicants must possess the ability work as part of a team, work independently, pay attention to detail, and follow directions. Strong time management and interpersonal communication skills are essential in this role. The successful candidate will have the ability to follow instructions both written and verbal in the English language and the ability to complete required forms, paperwork, and time sheets. Minimum Qualifications: Education and/or Experience: Any combination of education and experience which clearly demonstrates the skills and abilities necessary to accomplish the essential functions of the job. Must undergo a criminal history background check. FERPA certification or certification completion within 30 days of the job start date. Title IX certification or certification completion within 30 days of the job start date. Behavior Based Safety (BBS) certification or certification completion within 30 days of the job start date. Workplace Harassment Prevention certification or certification completion within 30 days of the job start date. Position Details: This position is located on the University of Alaska campus in Anchorage. This is a full-time, non-exempt temporary staff position from May 2026 - August 2026. This position is open until filled with the initial application review taking place in February 2026. The $3,000 value of housing cost is discounted to $650 and is for the entire summer employment period including interim periods. To qualify for this benefit, applicant must also qualify for student summer housing with UAA and follow all Residence Life policies related to summer housing and campus living. If the position is vacated early, the entire housing costs may be evoked and fees assessed equal to the summer sessions (including interim periods) housing cost. The University of Alaska (UA) reserves the right to require employees to work on-site at the UA facilities. Hybrid and remote work may be approved for employees based in Alaska at the University's discretion. Remote work for employees based outside the State of Alaska may be approved only in exceptional circumstances or when required by the position's job duties.
