About The Position

We’re hiring for Summer 2026! Camp Wediko is looking to hire emerging professionals who are looking to gain experience working with children and adolescents in a therapeutic camp environment at our beautiful lakeside campus. Temporary Camp Wediko Residential Counselors will gain experience working with children and adolescents who have social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. The program will run from June 25th-August 18th,2026. Camp Residential Counselors will be hired to work as either Direct Care, Assistant Teachers, or Activities Instructors and will work on a team of 6-8 under the direct supervision of the Clinical Supervisor assigned to the cabin group. Camp Residential Counselors will work alongside our youth throughout the day, from wake up through bedtime routines, and every activity in between: archery, swimming, athletics, canoeing, dance, art, music, kayaking, brain games, nature and discovery, and mountain biking. Requirements

  • Must be at last 18 years old.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to approach challenges in a supportive and creative manner.
  • Adaptability in an ever-changing work environment

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care and supervision for youth assigned to cabin group.
  • Participate in daily group therapy led by Cabin Group Supervisor.
  • Participate in individual therapeutic and behavioral interventions to support youth treatment goals.
  • Provide consistent structures and routines to support a predictable environment and program schedule.
  • Consistently model respectful communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
  • Engage in recreational activities alongside our youth and provide coaching and scaffolding for youth when needed.
  • Utilize approved behavior management techniques including use of de-escalation strategies.
  • Seek and/or utilize feedback provided by Clinical Group Supervisors for professional development.
  • Utilize agency policies when responding to emergencies including reporting safety concerns to Lead Staff, Clinical Supervisors, or Program Coordinators.
  • Complete necessary documentation including critical incident reports and written progress monitoring as needed.
