About The Position

The Carolina Center for Public Service (CCPS) engages and supports the faculty, students and staff of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in meeting the needs of North Carolina and beyond. CCPS strengthens the university's public service commitment by promoting scholarship and service that are responsive to the concerns of the state and contribute to the common good. This position will work with a variety of programs managed by CCPS, providing them with an opportunity to complete different tasks and strengthen many different skills, including event planning, program management, assessment, student support, technology development, and student recruitment. They will support the implementation and development of the following programs: The SECU Public Fellows Internship program, made possible by a grant from the SECU Foundation, provides the opportunity for 20 UNC-Chapel Hill undergraduate students to be hired as interns with a community or government organization in North Carolina. Buckley Public Service Scholars (BPSS) provides a framework for Carolina undergraduate students committed to making a positive impact through service. While completing the program components, participants build portfolios reflecting their learning and unique experiences. This Summer Community Engagement Coordinator will work directly with a CCPS staff member community partner supervisors, undergraduate students, campus partners, and occasionally with other staff within CCPS.
