About The Position

We are seeking a co-op scientist to join the Discovery Biology team at the Branford CT site. Based on level, the successful applicant will assist experienced scientists in the areas of molecular biology, protein-protein interaction analysis, biochemical assay and mammalian cell-based assay development and implementation. The co-op scientist will learn new techniques and gain independence towards conducting experimentation in an HIV-focused laboratory while driving new drug discovery toward the prevention, treatment, remission, and cure of HIV. The position is on site and for a period of up to 12 months.

Requirements

  • Recently obtained BA/BS or pursuing MA/MS or PhD in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related scientific field
  • Strong experience in molecular biology and mammalian cell culture
  • Must be able to work full-time (35-40 hours/week) throughout the duration of the 12 month co-op (June 2026 ~ June 2027).
  • Must have an active student status and/or within 12 months post-graduation from a BS or MS degree program. Post-doctoral candidates are not eligible
  • Must successfully pass a drug screen and background check prior to assignment target start date.
  • Completion of the assessment is required to proceed in the application process.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong experience with one or more of the following immunoassay and protein-protein interaction analysis (TR-FRET, ELISA, SPR, Western blotting); cell-based assay development; flow cytometry; biosafety level 2+ containment
  • Handling HIV and performing virus replication cell-based assays are a plus.
