CSA Group is offering an exciting summer co-op placement for students pursuing a degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. This hands-on opportunity allows you to work alongside experienced Product Safety Engineers and Laboratory Technicians, gaining valuable technical and project management skills in a collaborative lab environment. Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an Electrical or Mechanical Engineering program.
  • Enthusiastic about working in a fast-paced, team-oriented lab setting.
  • Able to submit a resume and unofficial or official transcript.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand tools.
  • Attention to safety requirements and familiarity with 5S principles.
  • Self-motivation, accountability, and a proactive mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills—written, verbal, and interpersonal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow technical knowledge.
  • Organizational skills and adaptability in dynamic environments.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Shadow Product Safety Engineers and Lab Technicians to learn the product certification process and standards.
  • Contribute to lab efficiency initiatives, including the development and automation of test forms.
  • Apply basic electrical theory while exploring new technologies and innovative testing methods.
  • Assist in preparing certification documents and other CSA-related documentation.
  • Think creatively to improve testing and certification workflows.
