Together, we are building a safer, more compassionate community. Camp HOPE – SafeNest, serves youth who have experienced trauma. Camp Unit Directors should be emotionally prepared to support campers who may share personal experiences, display trauma-related behaviors, or require additional emotional support. Training and ongoing support will be provided. A Summer Camp Unit Director provides leadership and guidance for a group of campers, ensuring a quality experience to children and parents that focuses on these character values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring. A Summer Camp Unit Director creates positive, nurturing relationships with children, while building cooperative relationships with parents/caregivers. Under the direction of the Camp Supervisor, the Summer Camp Unit Director will be responsible for assisting with the planning, development and implementation of program activities. A Summer Camp Unit Director must possess good communication and organizational skills. A Summer Camp Unit Director must have the ability to maintain control of the area even when distracted by noise or activity, and work with a diverse group of people.
