The Department of Parks & Recreation (DPR) Therapeutic Recreation Team is seeking energetic, dedicated, and fun-loving temporary summer Assistant Directors and Directors for our adapted summer camps or Inclusion Leads I/II to provide experienced inclusion support at adapted or general recreation camps throughout the County. These positions play a key leadership role by supporting camper needs, guiding staff, modeling best practices, and helping create inclusive, engaging, and developmentally appropriate camp experiences for all participants. We are seeking to hire several candidates for the following summer camp programs and services: Inclusion Support: Inclusion support services help campers with disabilities fully participate in camp activities. This includes providing individualized assistance, adapting activities, encouraging positive behaviors, and collaborating with staff to create an inclusive and engaging environment for all participants. Adapted Camps: Engaging campers ages 6-21 with disabilities; adapted summer camps offer modified activities, specialized support, and an inclusive environment. These camps provide engaging experiences like arts, sports, swimming, and sensory activities while ensuring accessibility and individualized assistance for each participant. Successful candidates will have good character and integrity, effective communication skills, reliable transportation, ability to complete administrative tasks independently, take initiative, and work successfully in a team environment.
