About The Position

The National Ability Center (NAC) is inviting enthusiastic, dependable, and big-hearted individuals to support our summer camp programs. This role is perfect for college students on summer break, educators and school staff, retirees, or school bus drivers looking for meaningful summer seasonal part-time work. Each day, you’ll help campers begin their adventures safely, confidently, and with a smile—setting the tone for unforgettable experiences in adaptive sports and outdoor recreation. As one of the largest nonprofit adaptive recreation organizations in the world, our team is dedicated to the national movement of building an Adaptive Nation. Shuttle drivers transport campers of varying physical, developmental, intellectual, and cognitive disabilities from Salt Lake City to the NAC Ranch in Park City (and back) five days per week. A Camp Counselor, Intern or Admin Staff members is always present on the bus to assist campers as needed. This is a part-time seasonal position from May 21, 2026 to August 14, 2026. Two roundtrips are required each day, Monday-Friday – 1st trip each morning around 7:30am – 9:00am and a 2nd trip each afternoon around 3:30pm – 5:00pm. We are willing to consider splitting this driving requirement with two shuttle drivers if candidates are only able to commit to a certain shift each day (i.e. mornings only, or afternoons only), ideally with flexibility to occasionally cover both shifts when needed.

Requirements

  • 21 years or older.
  • Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record.
  • Maintain a Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) physical and gain approval for driving the National Ability Center’s fleet of accessible vehicles (15-passenger buses with wheelchair lift systems).
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification, or the ability to attain.
  • Be able to pass a background check.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. We do not sponsor employment visas or other immigration processes to attain or maintain employment eligibility.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working with people with disabilities.
  • Ability to speak Spanish and/or use American Sign Language (ASL).

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for driving campers from Salt Lake City to the NAC Ranch in Park City (and back) five days per week.
  • Operate a fleet of National Ability Center vehicles (15-passenger buses with wheel-chair lift systems).
  • Conduct a vehicle inspection before departing to ensure that it is safe for transporting individuals.
  • Help participants get in and out vehicles safely while utilizing appropriate safety equipment.
  • Utilize appropriate routes to be most efficient with transportation time.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with program supervisor and manager.
  • Deliver participants to proper locations safely and on time.
  • Work and communicate effectively with parents/guardians, camp counselors, campers, and program supervisor/manager daily.
  • Assist with overseeing proper usage of facilities, equipment, and supplies.
  • Assist with preparing/cleaning site, equipment, and vehicles for activities.
  • Attend and engage in all required training sessions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
