About The Position

Think Academy US is a recently established education technology company providing PreK-12 extra-curricular learning services. This part-time position is designed for college students and entry-level professionals passionate about education. The successful candidate will work alongside the teaching team in Silicon Valley, focusing on both teaching and operational aspects of the business. This role offers resources to become a great math educator and provides opportunities to participate in business functions including operations and marketing. It is ideal for those aspiring to become branch directors or department managers in the education industry.

Requirements

  • Open to all majors; training and professional growth provided.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of math concepts and problem-solving techniques.
  • Prior math teaching or general teaching experience is preferred but not required.
  • Passionate about teaching and the education industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in utilizing technology for instructional purposes.
  • Commitment to at least one whole semester of teaching without interruption.
  • Responsible, reliable, and a team player.
  • Patient, empathetic, and motivated to inspire students.
  • Available to work during weekday afternoons and weekends.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Ability to commute to teach in-person at one of the San Jose Cupertino Campuses.
  • Bilingual in English and Mandarin is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach engaging lessons in English for elementary level mathematics to students using Think Academy curriculum.
  • Create an inclusive and positive classroom environment that fosters a love of mathematics among a class of about 8-16 students.
  • Identify and address individual learning needs by providing personalized assistance to students.
  • Grade homework and provide other related key teaching services.
  • Maintain open and proactive communication with parents/guardians regarding their child's progress, achievements, and areas of concern.
  • Conduct parent-teacher conferences/meetings as needed to discuss student performance.
  • Hold office hours and provide 1-on-1 help.
  • Foster a safe and respectful learning atmosphere for all students.
  • Develop tailored mathematical learning plans for students based on their current abilities and goals.
  • Support daily business operations in marketing and business growth in the Bay Area.
