About The Position

To further the mission of Camp Shady Brook through the management, direction and execution of all program activities including conference & retreat center group activities, summer camp, adult camps and other related events. Provide leadership and supervision of programs and perform all responsibilities for these programs according to the policies of the YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region. AED participates in volunteer and staff development, financial development, community relations and collaborations with community agencies. Assist in the management of the overall camp operation at the direction of the camp executive director.

Requirements

  • Maintain CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer yearly
  • Maintain First Aid and Oxygen every 2 years
  • Bloodbourne Pathogens/Child Abuse Prevention every year
  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent.
  • Five or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other not-for-profit agency.
  • Minimum age requirement of 21.
  • Ability to direct assigned operations including volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of budgets, marketing and public relations, and program development.
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
  • Within 30 days of hire include: completion of: Child Abuse Prevention for Supervisory Staff; Working with Program Volunteers; CPR; First Aid; AED; Bloodborne Pathogens.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations
  • YMCA Team Leader or Multi-Team/Branch Leader certification preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes with the CSB leadership team long range plans for the expansion of programs and services, in harmony with overall YMCA objectives.
  • Provides staff support for assigned committees. Provides staff leadership for annual support campaign.
  • Represents and promotes the YMCA in the local community and develops positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community agencies in service delivery area. The Y: We’re for youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
  • Recruits, hires, trains, develops and directs employees and volunteers. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
  • Develops, manages, and monitors assigned operating budgets to meet or exceed targets. Recommends adjustments to the budget to assure a balanced operation and submits reports on current operations.
  • Develops and directs high quality patron engagement strategies and programs which support CSB and Association mission, goals, and strategies. May direct CSB marketing and communication efforts.
  • Along with Executive leadership, ensure the maintenance of facilities and properties of the branch to assure high standards of maintenance, safety, cleanliness and to assure that the requirements of regulatory codes are fully met.
  • Serves as a member of YMCA management and supports the overall objectives of the YMCA.
