About The Position

AHRC New York City is one of the largest providers of services for children and adults with developmental disabilities in New York City. AHRC New York City has operated sleepaway summer camps for over 50 years, providing summer camp experiences to over 1,000 individuals and much-needed respite to their families. We take pride in our two summer camps and are successfully accredited by the American Camp Association, (ACA). AHRC New York City offers a variety of Employment Opportunities at our two UPSTATE NEW YORK summer camps, Camp Anne and The Lodge. Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

• Background in psychology, nursing, special education, speech pathology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, recreational studies, human services, or social work.
• Previous camp counselor experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the daily operations of the summer camp.
• Provide support and care for campers with special needs.
• Engage campers in various recreational activities.
• Foster a safe and inclusive environment for all participants.
• Collaborate with other staff members to enhance the camp experience.
