About The Position

Become a Summer Camp Counselor at Neptune Elementary School and be part of our dynamic team! Join us for an exciting summer filled with fun, creativity, and hands-on learning. As a Summer Camp Counselor, you will create a safe, engaging, and enriching environment for elementary-aged students while leading activities that inspire exploration, teamwork, and personal growth.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old with a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Background Screening & Drug Screening required.
  • First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, patient, and dependable.
  • Ability to lead groups of children in a fun and structured environment.
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 1–2 years of childcare or camp experience preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent service to all students, families, co-workers, and school administration.
  • Supervise and actively engage with students throughout daily camp activities.
  • Meet the physical, emotional, and educational needs of the children in your care.
  • Lead and participate in structured activities including outdoor play, arts & crafts, games, and themed events.
  • Work in a team environment; build and maintain positive, cooperative relationships.
  • Communicate effectively and positively with the Site Director and fellow staff.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all students by adhering to all policies and procedures.
  • Model positive behavior and guide students toward responsible decision-making.
  • Implement daily camp schedules and activities and provide feedback as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe camp environment.
  • Respect and embrace diversity among students, families, and staff.
  • Attend all required meetings and trainings.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all camp areas and materials.
  • Wear assigned staff uniform daily (Shirts provided).
  • Arrive on time and be dependable for all scheduled shifts.
  • Follow all safety procedures and activity schedules.
  • Communicate any concerns promptly to the Site Director.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
