Summer Camp Counselor
About The Position
Sitar Arts Center is seeking experienced Camp Counselors to work with a range of young people to support Camp Sitar this June – August 2026. Camp Sitar provides visual, performing, digital art, and movement classes over six weeks to kindergarten - 8th graders in our full-day program. Camp Counselors ensure that students are engaged in weekly camp activities and field trips and help get them in the summer spirit. Camp Counselors have daily opportunities to engage outdoors, support classes, encourage positive student behavior and lead camp activities. Camp Counselors play an important role in making the summer an amazing experience for each Sitar Camper. As a Camp Counselor, you will work directly with children grades K – 8th, teaching artists, youth interns, parents and Sitar staff members.
Requirements
- Minimum High School Diploma and/or Pursuing College Degree. (18+ years)
- Interest and/or experience in arts and/or arts education.
- Two or more years of experience working with children & youth.
- Previous experience working in a camp setting.
- Background check and TB test

Responsibilities
- Assist with pre/post camp preparation, planning, storage, and cleaning.
- Work as a team with teachers and staff to coordinate and participate in all camp activities, field trips, and students showcases/exhibitions.
- Supervise and ensure camp students' safety during camp time, in and outside of classes, mealtimes, activities, transitions and during outside play.
- Work in Aftercare leading small group activities.
