About The Position

To support our over 25 parks and facilities, we have a dedicated and diverse workforce of over 500 staff seasonally. We’re hiring for a variety of camps, including Early Childhood Camps (preschool -2nd grade), School Age Camps (3rd-8th grade), Art Camp, and Sports Camps, and extended camp programming that run June 15–July 31(with additional opportunities to work pre and post camps), and mandatory paid training the week of June 8. Requirements

  • Incumbents must be at least 16 years old (applicants that will be 15 by June 8, 2026 can apply to work in PM Extended Care or a preschool camp (So Big or Sun and Fun); a work permit must be obtained)
  • Ability to create a positive and supportive environment for children.
  • Ability to connect effectively with preschool and elementary school-aged children while being attentive and responsive to their individual needs.
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm and a genuine commitment to working with children ranging from age three to 8th grade.
  • Ability to conduct oneself professionally and serve as a role model to the children.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and be on your feet for long periods of time.
  • Must pass a background check
  • Staff are expected to commit to working for the entire summer season

Nice To Haves

  • Art Camp counselors: Preferred to have experience in ceramics, drawing, painting, and design.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement weekly schedules for camp groups.
  • Supervise campers, ensuring adherence to program rules, safety, and regulations.
  • Collaborate with counselors to plan and deliver engaging group activities.
  • Lead age-appropriate activities such as crafts, games, nature exploration, and swimming, including managing transitions like bus rides and walks.
  • Address and manage camper behavior issues effectively.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and litter-free camp environment.
  • Communicate with parents about camper experiences and report concerns to leadership.
  • Actively participate in camp activities as a positive role model.
