About The Position

At the Y, our mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. We are looking for fun and creative Seasonal Camp Counselors! Do you love spending time with children of all ages? Was your time at summer camp a cherished memory? Would you like to share your experiences and knowledge to make a real difference in the lives of those around you? As a YMCA Summer Camp Counselor you are responsible for the successful implementation and delivery of our camp activities. This is a seasonal position that starts at the end of May and runs through mid-August. Invitations to participate in the preliminary on-line video interview will be sent by email.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• At least 18 years of age.
• Ability to work effectively work with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptions.
• We conduct a comprehensive background check for all employees who work with children and youth.

Nice To Haves

• 1-year experience working with children in a day camp setting preferred.
• Experience with outdoor recreation, songs/music, skits, sports, aquatics, games, etc.
