Goshen Valley Boys Ranch, a division of Goshen Valley Foundation, is looking for a Summer Camp Counselor to work at our 160-acre campus located in northern Cherokee County which is home to about 40 young men in foster care. Camp Counselors will be expected to fulfill the following responsibilities: Supervision and mentoring of residents as may be assigned. Transport boys as directed. Spend time in recreation and activities as desired. May be called upon to spend time in direct support of or supervision of one or more individual residents who require special attention. Should attend regular staff meetings and functions as possible. This is a part-time position; June 1 - July 31st., approximately 20-29 hours per week. The schedule will be four days per week, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The salary is $15-$17/hr depending upon experience. Candidates will need to be able to onboard in mid-May in order to fulfill orientation and training requirements before June 1st summer program start. Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older to be able to supervise youth.
  • Must have a High School diploma or GED.
  • Must be of good character, and supportive of the programs, policies, and ideals of GVF.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Must be able to pass a health, drug and criminal background check and possess a valid driver’s license.
  • If the nature of service requires it, the individual must be insurable by the GVF insurance carrier.
  • The individual must be able to demonstrate the ability to provide moral, ethical, and spiritual leadership that coincides with the program and policies of GVF.
