About The Position

Provides overall safety and direct supervision of children in our seasonal summer camp program. Needs to demonstrate the ability to be a positive role model, with the ability to provide leadership and stability to our summer camp community. Provides a quality experience to children and parents focused on YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.

Requirements

• Must undergo and pass a background check.
• Must be fingerprinted, if over the age of 18.
• Must become CPR and First Aid Certified.
• Must be available to work Monday through Friday with shifts from 8:00AM-4:00PM or 2:30PM-6:00PM

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementation of Camp Program.
• Assist in supervising and managing a group of children between the ages of 5 to 13.
• Communicates effectively with staff, children, and parents.
• Adheres to program standards including safety and cleanliness standards.
• Attends staff meetings and trainings, as scheduled.
• Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medial and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergencies.
• Plans and implements program activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate, and consistent with YMCA values.
• Ability to plan, lead, and participate in a range of activities in a variety of outdoor/indoor settings.
