About The Position

We are hosting a variety of exciting programs from art, to sports, to even fishing and mountain biking! We have opportunities for indoor and outdoor camps.. Job Summary: Baroody Camps, Inc. provides camps to school children in various counties throughout the Northern Virginia area throughout the summer and school year months. We provide opportunities to manage and teach kids during our camps. We are looking for individuals who are interested in teaching elementary school children in various activities including (but not limited to) art, science, STEM, cooking, and sports. Flexible hours with half day and full day options available. will be scheduled weekly and hours range from 25-40 per week depending on availability must be available for the full week of camp (Monday-Friday) This is a seasonal role that will begin in June and run through August. The ideal candidate can work at least 5 weeks. Positions will be open in: Arlington, Fairfax, Alexandria and Falls Church!

Requirements

Must be eligible to work in the United States
Availability to work at least 4 weeks between June and August.
Must be 18 years or older
Flexibility and willingness to adapt to different situations
Works well under pressure
Must have reliable transportation

Responsibilities

Build and develop positive, caring and appropriate relationships with campers.
Treat all campers fairly with kindness, dignity and respect.
Managing a small group of kids by taking attendance and accounting for them at all times
Ensure children's safety, manage children's behavior and act as a role model while participating with campers in all daily activities.
Facilitate age-appropriate activities for elementary school aged children activities that give children a sense of accomplishment that comes from mastering techniques and completing projects.
Use group management skills to engage all children in daily activities (i.e. signals to get attention, positive feedback, model positive attitude about projects, conflict resolution, etc.)
Prepare materials needed for activities, clean up after the activities.
Option to create and design activities for elementary school aged children (optional)
For in person camp options - additional safety and cleaning precautions must be taken.
Arrive on time each day
Manage kids safely
Complete activities in a safe but fun and exciting manner
Communicate directly with Site Director, Manager, and student's parents
