About The Position

This position is responsible for: Assists in providing childcare services for children including personal care, hygiene, learning and development activities and specialized programs; maintains cleanliness and orderliness of childcare property. Key Responsibilities: Provides constant care for the needs of the children in an efficient, clean, loving, safe, secure, and healthy manner. Assists Child Care Workers in preparing and conducting lesson plans; monitors classroom activities in the absence of the Child Care Worker. Supervises and monitors children during recreational activities; observes, monitors, and supervises children on the playground. Prepares and serves children snacks and meals; ensures that children receive nutritional and tasteful food; provides positive, relaxed atmosphere during children mealtime encouraging conversation. Washes children’s hands and faces after morning play activities, before lunch, and again in late afternoon before parents pick up children, or before dinner, whichever comes first.

Requirements

Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
Ability to observe children and ensure their safety.
Ability to lift, hold, and carry toddlers on a regular basis.
High school diploma or G.E.D. required
Six months experience providing adult supervision to children preferred, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Valid State Driver's License
C.P.R. and First Aid Certification
