About The Position

The Delaware Art Museum is seeking two Summer Camp Assistants to assist the instructors with youth camp art programs. The Assistants will be the first line of communication with campers, instructors and parents. The Assistants will receive training and orientation for the camps beginning June 2 from 10:30am-4:30pm. The summer camps begin on June 9. The shifts are 7:30am-1:30pm, and 11:30am -6:00pm Monday-Friday.

Requirements

• Experience working with kids
• Word and Excel capabilities
• Ability to interact with each camper
• Good listening skills

Responsibilities

• Generate class rosters and welcome letters
• Assist with summer art camp by greeting and releasing campers every day
• Supervise camper breaks and lunches
• Serve as initial point of contact for parents and teachers
• Oversee dismissals at either end of day or students leaving early
• Foster a fun and positive learning environment
• Track allergies, medical issues that the Museum should be aware of, and photo releases
• Keep lobby and hallways organized
• Assist in quick studio cleanups at the end of the day
• Assist with communications to students and parents
• Manage forms and paperwork
• Help coordinate teambuilding activities and art therapy initiatives
• Assist with setup and breaking down the camper art show
• Ready supplies for next session
