Recognized nationally for our innovative theatre education programs serving preschool through high school, Children’s Theatre of Charlotte continues to shape young artists and lifelong learners. Our summer camp plays a vital role in this work, offering students—and the artists who guide them—a dynamic, creative, and rewarding summer camp experience. Our Summer Administrative Counselors are the behind-the-scenes heroes who keep our camps running smoothly. They oversee a wide range of administrative tasks, including preparing camp materials such as rosters, name tags, crafts, scripts, and mailings, while maintaining clear and welcoming communication with parents, Teaching Artists, and summer staff. Administrative Counselors also provide essential support to Summer Camp Counselors and Teaching Artists, assisting with student supervision during camp sessions as needed. This position reports directly to the Education Operations & Administrative Manager and the Summer Administrative Coordinator.

  • You must secure and provide your own housing in Charlotte.
  • You must be able to provide your own reliable transportation to and from the theatre or the summer satellite camp locations.
  • You will be granted time off only for personal emergencies (illness, death in the family, etc.).
  • Compensation advertised is non-negotiable.
  • You must be available to commit to the timeline listed and available to work 40 hours per week.
  • You are a positive, proactive, enthusiastic, and energetic undergraduate student who is driven to help a child build confidence and develop life skills through theatre skills.
  • You appreciate and thrive when collaborating with other team members and value the feeling of commitment and accomplishment.
  • Minimum of three years of completed college coursework is required.
  • Strong phone etiquette is required.
  • Experience in youth programming and working with young children is required.
  • Detail oriented, organized, and unflappable under pressure
  • Experience with customer service and/or interacting with parents of children and teens.
  • Background in theatre, education, or administration preferred.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Google Docs, Sheets, Google Forms, etc.).
