The Summer Associate will work full-time, on-site, supporting attorneys with legal research, drafting briefs and motions, preparing pleadings and discovery, and assisting with deposition and trial preparation. This role provides hands on litigation experience, including analyzing deposition transcripts and preparing detailed summaries. Primary Job Duties: Assist in drafting correspondence to opposing counsel, clients, and courts Perform administrative litigation support such as file indexing, organizing evidence, and managing litigation databases Review and organize case files, exhibits, and document productions Prepare chronologies, case summaries, and timelines to support litigation strategy Observe depositions, hearings, mediations, and client meetings, as opportunities arise Assist with factual investigations, including reviewing contracts, medical records, and other case materials Support attorneys in preparing exhibit lists, witness files, and trial binders Compile and analyze discovery responses from opposing parties Participate in strategy discussions and team meetings to gain exposure to case development Research court rules, procedural requirements, and jurisdiction-specific filing standards Help review and summarize expert reports and supporting materials Assist with legal project management tasks, including tracking deadlines and organizing case documents Collaborate with attorneys to brainstorm arguments, case themes, and strategic approaches Conduct cite-checking, reviews, and proofreading of briefs and memoranda Key Competencies: Communicating - Legal Professionals provide the information required by others in a concise, direct, and unambiguous way.
