Department Overview The RIA & Custody Services Division (RCS) serves as a clearing firm for independent broker-dealers and as a custodian for independent Registered Investment Advisor firms (RIAs). Job Summary The summer associate will have the opportunity to work directly at all levels of the department including senior leadership. Curiosity and innovation skills will be key when participating in projects that will impact the department for years to come. Understanding of the regulatory agencies that oversee Broker-Dealer and RIA firms will be essential in understanding how the different areas of the business work together to mitigate risk and implement product solutions while delivering superior client experience. The summer associate position is a temporary role. Start Date: Monday, June 1 , 202 6 End Date: Friday, August 7 , 202 6 Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, up to 40 hours per week.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office functions (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Visio is a plus).
  • FINRA and the SEC and how they oversee RIAs and Broker Dealers.
  • Understanding of financial markets and products.
  • Relationship management software and applications is a plus.
  • Fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of a professional office environment.
  • Creating process documentation and diagrams.
  • Preparing and delivering written reports.
  • Effective time management and ability to meet set deadlines.
  • Presenting to large and small audiences.
  • Critical thinking and the ability to identify areas of risk to the organization.
  • Operating standard office equipment and using or having the ability to learn, software applications.
  • Research complex issues and involve appropriate parties in decision making.
  • Gather information to identify trends and utilize that information to drive improvements.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external partners.
  • See the larger picture to seek out areas for business improvements.

  • Freshman or Sophomore standing ( December 202 7 -May 202 9 graduates) pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field.
  • Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources.
  • Eligible applicants must be legally authorized to work in the US and not require visa sponsorship now or in the future (including beyond OPT/EAD) .

Responsibilities

  • Gain in-depth exposure and hands-on experience working with teams dedicated to providing operational excellence for RIAs and Introducing Broker Dealers.
  • Participate in initiatives aimed at continuous process and infrastructure improvements; identify areas of operational inefficiency and implement proposed enhancements.
  • Support project managers in developing project plans, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Track progress and update project documentation, including status reports and meeting notes.
  • Assist in scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and coordinating communication between stakeholders.
  • Help identify risks and issues and escalate them appropriately.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for process improvements.
  • Maintain project management tools and ensure accurate data entry.
  • Define and track success criteria for assigned initiatives with a focus on operational efficiency and due diligence.
  • Assist others working with cross-functional stakeholders (Client Engagement, Complex Client Solutions, Finance, Business Development) to communicate and provide necessary updates
  • Participate in leadership mentorship meetings with RCS Chief Operating Officer.
  • Operates standard office equipment and uses required software applications.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
