Our IT Internship Program offers hands-on experience across several dynamic areas including Digital Banking, Enterprise Data Management, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, and IT Operations.   • Assist in developing and enhancing digital platforms that improve customer experience and drive engagement.
  • Support infrastructure projects, help maintain system performance, and contribute to automation initiatives.
  • Collaborate on application development, testing, and deployment using modern programming languages and frameworks.
  • Monitor systems, troubleshoot issues, and gain exposure to service management and operational excellence.
  • Support the enterprise data team by assisting in data collection, cleaning, and analysis to drive business insights and improve data-driven decision-making.
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Analytics or a related field.
  • Candidates must be available to work a hybrid work model, 40 hours per week for the duration of the program starting in June.
  • Occasional travel within corporate footprint (Buffalo and Rochester) will also be required.
  • At least 1 year in one or more club(s), volunteerism efforts, or other activities outside of the classroom.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Familiarity with programming languages, cloud platforms, or IT service tools is a plus.
  • Curiosity, initiative, and a desire to learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate the standards and principles of the Five Star Bank experience in every interaction with internal customers, associates, and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with basic IT concepts including networking, servers, and cybersecurity fundamentals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to technical detail.
  • Ability to document processes and follow technical procedures accurately.
  • Effective communication skills for working with cross-functional teams and end-users.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; exposure to Windows Server, Active Directory, or networking tools is a plus.
