Our internship program offers practical corporate work experience that could lead to full-time work after graduation. We are seeking students going into their senior year, graduating in the spring of 2027. We are hiring interns for a 1-month assignment between June and August. The shift is from 9 am to 5 pm, 40 hours per week and is a hybrid position in Washington DC that pays $20 per hour. Job Summary: The Summer Analyst will be responsible for performing investment and corporate governance research, conducting due diligence for special projects, and completing training under the supervision of Newport Trust’s financial analysts.

Requirements

  • Rising Sophomores, Juniors, or Seniors pursuing bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a business major or related field
  • Professional interest in business, finance, and project management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Focused on delivering responsive and high quality service to clients
  • Highly motivated and proven team player who works effectively with colleagues

Responsibilities

  • Perform research on institutional investment managers and corporate governance practices
  • Compare manager proxy voting policies to other managers, advisory firm guidelines and regulatory guidance and review voting results for compliance with policies
  • Organize and document findings for inclusion in an extensive report
  • Learn to utilize FACTSET for equity research, financial modeling and reporting
  • Participate in firmwide summer intern programming and internal meetings
