Summer '26 TRIO SSS Bridge Writing TA Tier III

St. Olaf CollegeNorthfield, MN
14d$12 - $13

About The Position

SSS is seeking SIX qualified applicants for the summer position of Writing Teacher Assistant (TA) for its Summer Bridge Program. Writing TAs will support faculty and students in the WRIT 109 course. TAs will also reinforce STEM SIs by attending STEM lectures and co-leading Supplemental Instruction sessions. TAs will serve as academic tutors and assistants to the SSS Summer Bridge Program faculty and staff. Over the course of Summer Bridge, TRIO SSS Writing TAs develop greater patience, empathy, and individual assessment skills as they help their six to seven students improve their writing abilities. All the while, they model good study skills, class engagement, and behavior. Furthermore, given the work TAs do to tailor their advice to individual students, they refine their coaching approaches. Finally, Writing TAs deepen their collaborative skills, as they help facilitate supplemental instruction with a STEM SI.
