About The Position

Join NewYork-Presbyterian’s Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) team for a dynamic summer internship experience! This program offers undergraduate students the opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to regulatory compliance inspections, occupational safety initiatives, and hospital-based risk reduction strategies. Interns will engage in safety-focused projects, data analysis, field observations, and stakeholder engagement across a collaborative and fast-paced healthcare environment. We are seeking enthusiastic and adaptable undergraduate sophomores and juniors from diverse academic backgrounds who are eager to: Interest in environmental health, safety, public health, and healthcare operations Learn and contribute to safety operations Demonstrate flexibility in work assignments Thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment Exhibit strong communication and organizational skills

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree Program as a rising sophomore or junior
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and operational support to environmental health and occupational safety initiatives, including documentation, project tracking, and compliance activities
  • Assist with data analysis, trending, and reporting related to incident management, indoor environmental quality, waste management, and regulatory programs
  • Create presentations and reports using Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) to support regulatory readiness, safety committee meetings, and program updates
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization, including Facilities, Nursing, Infection Prevention, Emergency Management, and others
  • Support rounding and assist in identifying potential hazards related to life safety, chemical safety, and environmental controls
  • Participate in EHS program assessments and gap analyses
