About The Position

The ACLU seeks an Undergraduate Store Team Intern in the Communications and Marketing Department of the ACLU’s National office in New York City. This internship is fully remote. Qualifying applicants must currently be matriculated undergraduate students or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience and must be based in the U.S. for the entire duration of the internship. The Team: The ACLU’s Communications & Marketing Department team focuses on growing our existing audiences and acquiring new audiences by smartly using digital channels to reach and inspire them to take action. We create rich and compelling written, multimedia, and graphic design content that are used in key email, texting, social, merchandise, and paid media programs that help raise money, get our message out into the world, and mobilize existing and new supporters. What You’ll Do: The store intern will be responsible for aiding in running the store in the most efficient, cost effective, and profitable way possible. We welcome new and creative merchandise and marketing ideas.

Requirements

  • Previous ecommerce experience for a major brand or retailer
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable analyzing data
  • Understanding of the internet and social media trends
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and communication skills
  • Strong computer skills, particularly web-based research including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel)

Responsibilities

  • Regular online store updates including: product page set up, copywriting, digital marketing support, and more
  • Helping brainstorm new products, merchandise strategies, and promotional campaigns
  • Product photography for social media and email marketing
  • Collecting and analyzing budget, inventory, and sales data using Excel
  • Research on latest industry trends to influence marketing, ecommerce, and product strategy
