About The Position

GDIT’s Early Career Program is designed with you in mind! Our business internship allows you the opportunity to be a part of a collaborative team that is helping to solve our client’s most complex issues. Throughout GDIT’s 10-week summer internship program, you will work on innovative projects that touch areas such as finance, accounting, human resources, proposal writing, technical writing, communications, and other related areas depending on your background and interest. As an intern, you will have real responsibilities and work alongside experienced and innovative industry professionals. Your internship experience will equip you with best in class skills to take back to the classroom. GDIT is seeking a Technical Writer I (Intern) in Bossier City, LA. Profile General Dynamics Information Technology desires to hire a Technical Writer (Intern) to support the OneGDIT Enterprise Service Desk Program in Bossier City, LA. As a Technical Writer you will support the deployment, management, and extension of knowledge management programs within the organization. You will have the opportunity to hone and develop your technical writing experience by providing briefings, creating call flows, and utilizing process improvement techniques.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university with at least one year of school remaining
  • Skills: Information Organization, Microsoft Office, Technical Writing

Responsibilities

  • Reviews usage and effectiveness of knowledge management system and knowledge articles
  • Updates and improves existing knowledge base to improve knowledge article content, knowledge article discovery, and improve overall customer service and satisfaction
  • Creates job aids and SOP's for incident and problem resolution
  • Identifies reoccurring incidents and requests for prioritization of job aid/SOP creation
  • Performs operational duties in support of regulatory, security, and industry practices compliance documentation
  • Coordinates the verification, approval, and processing of document revisions for call center knowledge base
  • Tracks document activity to ensure timeliness and process efficiency
  • Conducts research and analysis for new content creation and document maintenance (technical writing and editing)
  • Provide customer support for document owners and key stakeholders
