Throughout GDIT’s 10-week Summer Internship Program, you will have the opportunity to do the following: Work side-by-side with GDIT professionals delivering work for clients. Collaborate with a team of peers to research and propose solutions to a current business challenge. Participate in a mentoring circle led by an early career champion. Interact with GDIT leaders. Participate in professional development.

  • Assist in researching, designing, developing, and/or modifying enterprise-wide or customer systems.
  • Assist in performing systems modeling, simulation, and analysis.
  • Assist in testing, diagnosing, and fixing incidents.
  • Participate in large system and subsystem planning.
  • Help ensure that applications and systems are compliant with established quality standards and meet customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
  • Participate in special projects as required.
  • Support the completion of technical tasks.
  • Assist with the solutions to technical problems of limited scope.
  • Assist with the coordination for new products, software, upgrades, and equipment.
  • Assist with documentation for processes and procedure related to computer systems and operations.
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree program in Information Technology, Computer Science, or similar discipline.
  • Ability to actively collaborate with others.
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office (Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint).
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and positive attitude.
  • Ability to manage projects and prioritize competing requirements in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical terminology, concepts, and issues in terms understandable to both technical and non-technical resources.
  • Ability to build meaningful relationships with manager and members of your team in a remote environment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and responsibilities.
  • Intuitiveness with an ability to identify and solve complex problems related to rapidly changing technology.
  • A sense of genuine, intellectual curiosity and a nimble mindset.
  • Familiarity with IT systems and demonstrated proficiency in various programming languages.
  • Understanding of software development best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
