About The Position

D.R. Horton, Inc., the largest homebuilder in the U.S., is currently looking for a Purchasing Intern. The right candidate will assist the Purchasing Manager and Purchasing Agents with the management of all Purchasing functions. This role will involve learning the different aspects of the Purchasing department and the methods within the company, supporting company policies, suggesting improvements within the system, and executing policies to ensure compliance with quality standards. The intern will also be encouraged to explore other areas of interest to learn more about the general operations of the company, providing a vision both within and outside of the assigned department that will be supplemental to the learning experience. The intern is expected to conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company. Additionally, the intern should be prepared to work overtime and travel overnight as needed.

Requirements

• Must currently be enrolled in an accredited 4-year college or university and seeking a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form or via DRH applications.
• Proficiency with MS Office and email.
• Ability to sit for the majority of an 8-hour workday; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision and peripheral vision.
