This is a 11-week paid learning experience during which you'll be able to connect and network with other interns and leaders within the company. What It Takes: The AI Engineering Platforms team builds the foundational infrastructure that powers intelligent customer experiences across T-Mobile's entire brand portfolio. Our platforms enable millions of customer interactions through chatbots, voice services, and AI-driven support channels—serving customers across T-Mobile, Metro, and beyond. As a Product Owner Intern, you'll contribute to strategic design discussions, document platform decisions, and help shape capabilities that dozens of teams rely on to deliver seamless, scalable experiences. You'll see firsthand how thoughtful platform thinking prevents technical debt and accelerates innovation across the enterprise. What You'll Do: You'll work alongside experienced Product Owners and Product Managers contributing to platforms that serve thousands of developers and power millions of customer interactions. Your projects will include documenting Strategic Choice Records that capture design trade-offs, writing user stories with acceptance criteria focused on cross-team reusability, and creating technical documentation like integration guides and configuration frameworks. You'll analyze platform adoption data to identify optimization opportunities and participate in strategic design discussions where you'll learn to challenge solutions constructively. By summer's end, your contributions will be embedded in platforms that teams across T-Mobile rely on daily—and you'll have shaped how those capabilities scale.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in Information Systems, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or related field
  • Familiarity with agile practices and tools like JIRA or Confluence
  • Basic data analysis skills (SQL, Excel, or visualization tools)
  • Strong written communication and documentation abilities
  • Interest in AI/ML, platform design, or scalable technology solutions
  • Experience working on cross-functional or multi-stakeholder projects
  • -At least 18 years of age
  • -Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • -High School Diploma or GED
  • -Must be actively enrolled in a degree program or graduated within the last year
  • -Employees of T-Mobile or Metro by T-Mobile are ineligible for internships
  • Employer does not sponsor work visas for this position. Note that this also applies to individuals who are students in F-1 status who desire sponsorship after they complete their education.

Responsibilities

  • Document platform design decisions and maintain Strategic Choice Records that capture trade-offs and rationale
  • Author user stories with clear acceptance criteria focused on multi-brand, cross-team reusability
  • Develop technical documentation such as integration guides, configuration specs, and onboarding materials
  • Gather feedback from product pods and analyze adoption metrics to inform platform improvements
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Product Managers, and Engineering in agile ceremonies and design reviews

Benefits

  • Relocation may be provided to program participants who reside more than 50 miles from the internship location.
  • Intern wages range from $20/hour to $40/hour.
  • The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on experience/location.
