What It's Like The IAM team plays a critical role in securing and enabling every customer interaction at T‑Mobile by powering authentication, authorization, and identity-driven experiences across the company’s digital ecosystem. We support major products and programs—from T‑Mobile Money and T‑Mobile Travel SSO to retail ID scanning and multi-factor authentication—ensuring seamless, scalable, and compliant access for millions of users each month. What You'll Do We are seeking a highly motivated Identity Systems Engineer Intern to join our engineering team . The intern will assist the team with the planning, design, testing and implementation of new features to advance Consumer Identity and Protection across multiple channels, digital, retail and care. We seek candidates with interest in Systems Architecture, Cybersecurity and who are passionate about protecting our customers.

  • Must be actively enrolled in a Bachelors or Graduate degree program
  • Employees of T-Mobile or Metro by T-Mobile are ineligible for Internships
  • Employer does not sponsor work visas for this position. Note that this also applies to individuals who are students in F-1 status who desire sponsorship after they complete their education.

Responsibilities

  • Gain an understanding of the T-Mobile Consumer Identity Architecture
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements as they pertain to Consumer Identity
  • Collaborate with the existing team to design end-to-end Consumer Identity solutions to integrate T-Mobile’s new products and services
  • Create requirements to develop new features in the Ericsson IAM product
  • Assist the team with testing of new Ericsson IAM features in the NQE environment
  • Drive the implementation of new configurations as needed by IAM clients
  • Interpret transaction logs to detect fraudulent activities

Benefits

  • Relocation assistance may be provided to program participants who reside more than 50 miles from the internship location.
  • Intern wages range from $26/hour to $47/hour.
  • The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on education/STEM vs non-STEM designation.
