About The Position

Under the direction of the Arts & Humanities Supervisor/Program Coordinator, the Musical and Family Programming Staff member is responsible for leading and supporting musical productions and coordinating engaging family-oriented programs at the Silver Bay YMCA. This position would run from June 14-August 23 SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: N/A

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Coursework or experience in music, theater, arts, or related fields preferred.
  • Experience directing or participating in musical theater, performance, or family programming preferred
  • The Ideal Candidate for this position must be available June 14-August 23
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to coordinate multiple events and rehearsals.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, performers, and presenters.
  • Basic technical knowledge of performance spaces, sound, or staging is a plus.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License preferred.
  • This position requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout campus facilities, including performance and outdoor spaces. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Directs the seasonal musical production, including artistic leadership and overall coordination.
  • Coordinates, schedules, and supervises rehearsals for musical and theatrical performances.
  • Oversees set production, including design coordination, construction planning, and safe use of materials and spaces.
  • Plans and coordinates weekly family programming events such as family campfires, open mic nights, and similar community activities.
  • Coordinates and produces variety show(s), including performer scheduling, technical needs, and event flow.
  • Supports Lecture Series presentations by assisting with staging, sound, space setup, and other programmatic needs.
  • Collaborates with staff to integrate musical rehearsals into the broader campus schedule.
  • Assists with promotion and communication of musical and family programs to guests and participants.
  • Ensures programs are delivered in accordance with Silver Bay YMCA policies, safety standards, and community values.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • As a year-round, 24-hour operation, staff may be required to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special event schedules to support programs and guest needs.
