As a Mars Wrigley Project Engineering Intern, you will gain exposure to various areas including project lead or team member for a continuous improvement and/or growth project in a Chocolate, Gum/Mints, or Fruity Confections factory. You will manage scope, schedule, and budget for projects such as leading a cross-functional team for the design of a Food Processing improvement project, upgrading an air handling system for M&M's, investigating sugar buildup in operations, and developing ways to reduce waste in packaging and processing systems. You will also study and compile data for new cooling tunnel installations and work with contractor groups to organize and execute project scopes.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Food Process Related Engineering.
  • Eligible candidates must intern the summer prior to their final graduation date.
  • Open to students legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Employment contingent upon successful completion of drug & background screening.
  • Candidates must have personal transportation to and from the work site.

Responsibilities

  • Lead or be a team member for continuous improvement and/or growth projects in a factory.
  • Manage scope, schedule, and budget for projects.
  • Lead a cross-functional team for the design of a Food Processing improvement project.
  • Act as project lead for the upgrade of an air handling system for M&M's.
  • Investigate sugar buildup in operations and create a resolution plan.
  • Develop ways to reduce waste in packaging and processing systems.
  • Study and compile data for new cooling tunnel installations.
  • Work with contractor groups to organize and execute project scopes.
