About The Position

QTS' summer internship program will provide you first hand experience into the fast paced world of the data center industry by providing weekly lunch and learns, a comprehensive orientation program, and site based activities, socials and volunteering events. Every intern will be assigned initiatives tied to real QTS objectives helping with anything pertaining to the whole life-cycle of a data center build and/or company operations. The Software Engineering intern has two potential scopes of responsibility. On the software design side, the individual will gain valuable exposure to collaborating with a team working on automation solution based tools to be leveraged across the organization. For those more interested in the Project Management side, you'd act as a Project Analyst, reporting to a PM, tracking deliverables, organizing data, and performing research around topics as necessary. Technology Intern: Build relationships with key stakeholders across the organization Facilitate changes and IT based tools and access for staff at all levels Leverage project management tools to properly track ongoing deliverables across projects Maintain updated budgets, schedules, and status reports for assigned projects. Use programming languages like: Python, JAVA, C++, Golang Leverage controls engineering methodologies and tools

Requirements

  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint for presentations and Excel for data analysis and budgeting.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Must be a US Citizen

Nice To Haves

  • Previous internship or co-op experience in construction, finance, technology, HR, facilities engineering, or related industries.
  • Experience with data analysis tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Experience with programming languages like Python, Java, etc.
  • Involvement in community activities outside of schoolwork (athletics, clubs, volunteering, part-time employment).
  • Current full-time enrollment in one of QTS’s partner institutions (listed below) or a Blackstone Launchpad affiliate school: Auburn University Kansas State University Georgia State University Southern Adventist University Texas A&M University University of Kansas
